Formularies Offer Further Cost Savings

We can help determine what brand or type of drug will be dispensed under your pharmacy program. Savings of 20 to 30 percent per prescription can be realized simply by substituting generic drugs for name brands. But we can also assure that only those drugs that are appropriate for workers' compensation injuries are dispensed.

ScripNet provides assistance to guide pharmacists to dispense the appropriate pharmaceuticals, offering you maximum cost savings. But deciding what drugs are right for your needs and the needs of your employees is a decision only you can make.

Constant Review

The ScripNet Standard Formulary is constantly being reviewed (not less than quarterly) and updated as often as needed at each client's direction as part of our DUR Program. The ScripNet dedicated Account Manager can make changes to the formulary in conjunction with the Provider Relations Team immediately upon notice from our clients.

Custom Fomulary

ScripNet's Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee will assist our clients in the development of a custom formulary based upon the client's claims history and workers' compensation experience. Typically, clients start with a review of ScripNet's standard formulary and customize it from there.

ScripNet requires that its network pharmacies use every effort to supply generic drugs (if commercially available and consistent with the Retail or Mail Order Pharmacist's professional judgment and state and federal law). In states with mandatory generic laws, if the prescribing provider does not indicate "Dispense as Written" or "Medically Necessary" on the prescription, and the drug is not contained on the state's Negative Formulary list and the covered claimant requests the brand name drug product, then the covered claimant can be required to pay the difference between the retail cost of the brand name drug and the generic that could have been dispensed.

Savings
"We have enjoyed good savings since we started our ScripNet program in 2001. The program has been very well accepted by our members and the injured workers."
