SCRIPNET was founded in 1997 specifically to address the needs of workers’ compensation payors. Our founder, Dennis Sponer was employed as in-house counsel for a Las Vegas based Managed Care Organization. At the time, these companies had a contract to service the  Nevada State Industrial Insurance System (SIIS).

SCRIPNET was formed specifically to meet the needs of workers’ compensation payers facing the following challenges:

• Injured workers were being forced to pay cash out-of-pocket for their medications.
• Case managers and claims professionals were inundated with telephone calls from pharmacies.
• Data entry workers were overloaded with paper pharmacy bills.

On July 4, 1997, we went live with our first electronically adjudicated prescription. Since that day, SIIS has ceased to exist, as has the managed care organization. SCRIPNET has continued to grow exponentially, first throughout Nevada, and later, nationally. We now have clients from Honolulu to Hartford and most places in between.

SCRIPNET has always stayed focused on its core competency: workers’ compensation pharmacy benefit management. We do not handle group health business, group health contracts, or have any interest in group health. All SCRIPNET programs, processes, and pharmacy contracts are designed with worker’s compensation as a primary focus, making us 100 percent devoted to the needs of injured workers and their employers at all times.
